Freight Not Affected by Canada and Mexico Border Closings

The United States temporarily closed its Canada and Mexico borders to non-essential travel  while continuing to allow the movement of goods between countries. The closings are intended to slow the spread of the Coronavirus.

Trucks continue to move relatively freely to and from both countries. Air and rail freight are also largely unaffected by the border closings.

Officials stressed the need to keep supply chains open during the pandemic and said the borders will remain open for freight barring any unforeseen need to stop the movement of goods.
