SERVICE ALERT - Operations Limited by Hurricane Sally

Ground Transportation
Carrier operations are limited today in parts of Georgia, North Carolina, and South Carolina as Hurricane Sally moves through the region. Shippers should expect minor delays, especially with residential and jobsite services.

Air Cargo
Most airlines have resumed air cargo services.

Port Services
Ship-to-shore operations are still suspended at the following ports: Biloxi, Gulfport and Pascagoula, Mississippi; Mobile, Alabama; Pensacola, Florida; as well as the Venice Port complex in Louisiana.

Transit times for container freight affected by Hurricane Sally port closures will extend an additional 2-4 days.

Shipment Status Services
It is likely that freight moving through severe weather areas will experience transit delays. Shipments moving in other parts of the country may also experience residual delays as a result of the disruptions to carrier operations. The tracing tools on myUTS can keep you updated on the status of your shipments and allow you to set up automatic notification of status changes by email.

If you have any questions about how the carrier service alerts impact a shipment, our Operations department would be happy to provide more information. The status of weather advisories can be found at the National Weather Service (www.weather.gov).
